NDIS Internal Auditing Consultants Spotlight
The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (NDIS Commission) has taken decisive regulatory action to protect the integrity of the NDIS Approved Quality Auditor (AQA) Scheme by imposing new conditions on the approval of JPS Audit Specialists Pty Ltd (JPS).
This follows serious concerns about JPS’s conduct, including promoting an NDIS consultancy business to providers it was auditing. This conduct undermined impartiality and breached the standards expected of AQAs.
These conditions restrict JPS from conducting audits, except in cases where a contract and system linkage were established prior to 17 October 2025. This means that audits already underway can be completed. JPS must also provide written attestations regarding conflict of interest management and is prohibited from promoting any related business interests.
The NDIS Commission’s action is supported by the decision of the Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JASANZ) to suspend JPS’s accreditation, effective 13 October 2025.
This is the first suspension of its kind under the AQA Scheme and reflects the strength of the regulatory partnership between the NDIS Commission and JASANZ.
